Note on Matrix Model with Massless Flavors

چکیده
In this note, we generalize the field theory v.s. matrix model conjecture in the case with massive fundamental flavors given by Seiberg in hep-th/0211234 to the case with massless flavors. We show that with a little modification, the analysis given by Seiberg can carry on to our case. Furthermore, this new method explains the insertion of delta functions in the matrix model given by Demasure and Janik in hep-th/0211082.

On SQCD with massive and massless flavors
We consider supersymmetric QCD in the free magnetic phase with massless and massive flavors. The theory has a supersymmetry breaking pseudo-moduli space of vacua and a runaway behavior far away from the origin. A two-loop computation reveals that the origin is destabilized and there is no meta-stable SUSY breaking solution. We also study the embedding of this model in type IIA string theory and...
متن کاملFlavors in the microscopic approach to N = 1 gauge theories
In this note, we solve an extended version of the N = 1 super Yang-Mills theory with gauge group U(N), an adjoint chiral multiplet and Nf flavors of quarks, by using the N = 1 microscopic formalism based on Nekrasov’s sums over colored partitions. Our main new result is the computation of the general mesonic operators. We prove that the generalized Konishi anomaly equations with flavors are sat...
متن کاملDynamical SUSY and R-Symmetry Breaking in SQCD with Massive and Massless Flavors
We show that supersymmetry and R-symmetry can be dynamically broken in a longlived metastable vacuum of SQCD with massive and massless flavors. The vacuum results from a competition of a (leading) two-loop effect and small “Planck” suppressed higher-dimension operators. This mechanism provides a particularly simple realization of dynamical SUSY and R-symmetry breaking, and as such it is a good ...
متن کاملOn effective superpotentials and Kutasov duality
We derive the effective superpotential for an N = 1 SU(Nc) gauge theory with one massless adjoint field and Nf massless fundamental flavors and cubic tree-level superpotential for the adjoint field. This is a generalization of the Affleck-Dine-Seiberg superpotential to gauge theories with one massless adjoint matter field. Using Kutasov’s generalization of Seiberg duality, we then find the effe...
متن کاملChiral phase structure of QCD with many flavors
We investigate QCD with a large number of massless flavors with the aid of renormalization group flow equations. We determine the critical number of flavors separating the phases with and without chiral symmetry breaking in SU(Nc) gauge theory with many fermion flavors. Our analysis includes all possible fermionic interaction channels in the pointlike four-fermion limit. Constraints from gauge ...
